KAV Optivision®

When our company was founded, there was a missing element in our suppliers’ portfolio. A window with the appearance where the insulating glass’s outer plane is flush with the frame. With this elegant solution, the façade cladding, frame, and glass panes are on the same plane, following the principles of minimalist design. The development of our optically transparent glass product line, KAV Optivision®, was driven by the need for seamless, high-level glass integration and architectural design requirements. The seeds of our innovation began with an entry door panel laminated in a flat plane with painted glass, and now even the door frame requires glass cladding.

After satisfying the demand for glass-clad entry doors, our clients and architects expressed a desire for a glass-optical window system. The demand was clear. To reproduce the appearance of the typical glass-clad door wing and frame in other window openings on the façade. In our initial efforts, our focus was not on concealing the frame but on the structural realization of the concealed window sash. Our goal was to create fixed and operable sashes up to 3000mm in height, both in an appearance of single units and a single-sash casement and turn-tilt configuration without vertical divisions.

Our development partner was Alukönigstahl, the exclusive distributor of Schüco products in Hungary. They quickly understood the market demand we had identified, and both parties recognized the importance of the collaboration between appearance and size. We began with the Schüco AWS 90BS.SI+ system and developed a sash structure and new frame-fixing principle.

KAV Optivision® has become a favorite among architects and designers because concealed frame installation achieves a true glass sash effect. In the future, the Optivision® project will further expand to include lift-and-slide products.
