Our staff design, manufacture and deliver façade windows and the vast majority of aluminium building elements for the most complex hotel construction project to date in the capital of Iceland.
We visited the construction site of the Marriott Hotel with Zoltán Nagy, domestic Sales Manager of the unique Reynaers Aluminum System Administrator. At the end of the Icelandic summer, we watched the installation of our products in a 13-degree wind, in glittering sunshine. The installation of larger glass panels had just began, the closure of nodes designed for special meteorological loads and the installation of ground-curtain walls and portal structures. Fire protection and acoustic closures between the floors are started and their components and parts are also supplied by KAV. It was great to see the results of our work as well as the professional on-site construction practice and the quality of the construction as the Icelandic professionals work.
Our products will arrive at the closing floor of the main building of the hotel in these days, but soon the fabrication of the specially reinforced wooden folding doors and the 4 m high flat glazed entrance portals will begin. A lot of preparation and work has been done by our specialists working on the packaging and loading of our products, as a result of which all our products have travelled unharmed, on land and sea, to the construction site in the capital, more than 3000 kilometres away. It was fascinating to see the Icelandic builders’ extremely sophisticated battle with the weather, which included protecting all open wall openings and non-glazed door and window frames with permanent foil and / or backing them with laminated wood panelling. Their continuous installation and relocation is undertaken by a dedicated team, as they can only carry out interior design work on these port buildings by excluding the constant burden of wind from the sea, which often brings precipitation in a variety of physical conditions.
The capital of Iceland is under construction and beautification, of which this building complex will probably be the brightest gem. Of course, we will also report on the finishing touches to the project, illustrating this exemplary and exotic project with some spectacular pictures too.

Special KAV doors and windows in Költő Kert
MTVA's innovation magazine program, Novum, made a report on the special glass elements and door and window solutions of the 5,000 square meter Költő Kert villa park, a building complex that is also considered special in Europe. Environmental awareness, innovation, organic architectural elements with transparent huge glass surfaces, and a way of thinking in which visual culture also plays a prominent role. One of the biggest challenges in the Költő Kert villa park was the special solutions that the KAV staff had to create at the junction of the raw concrete surface and the glass membrane. Károly Lovász highlighted in the report that KAV's engineers and employees had to solve many challenges during the planning and execution, whether it was thermal technology, sun protection, mechanical engineering, glass railing connections or waterproofing. The result is a simultaneously organic and high-tech building, which is considered exceptional in Hungary not only in its appearance, but also in its innovations.
