A Business Ethics Prize is granted to KAV Hungária

Since 2000, the foundation of the Business Ethics Prize, it has been a renowned recognition in Hungarian business life. It was established by Professor Ervin László, Chairman of the Budapest Klub, and Mária Demcsák, founder and chief editor of Piac & Profit business magazine, with a view to draw attention to domestic businesses that set an example by their activity in responsible and ethical management, business presence and strengthening trust between society and the business sphere.

This year 46 companies submitted eligible applications, through nominations by economic actors and chambers, and also individually. KAV Hungária is one of the companies awarded a prize.
The panel, consisting of the founders and managers of earlier winners, decided on the basis of a separate set of criteria, including the importance of consciousness and social commitment towards a liveable and sustainable world for the individual company.

The Business Ethics Prize was awarded at the awards ceremony held by Piac & Profit in the evening of 16 November. This event was the closing event of the Hungarian Sustainability Summit, as before.
The management of KAV Hungária would like to say thank you for the Prize and extends its congratulations to the other winners.

Essential conditions for ethical business conduct in the twenty first century

1. The company demonstrates its responsible way of thinking through its acts. It assumes responsibility for its employees, for the well-being of its closer and broader environment, society’s development, the reversal of negative climate change processes and improving equal opportunities.
2. The company’s acts are not primarily motivated by economic gains at any price but also by taking care of others and considering their well-being.
3. The company is able to re-evaluate its expected business gains, by keeping in mind the interests of its closer or broader human, natural, and business environment, and it is able to transform the set of goals underlying its acts for the sake of higher objectives, sustainable development.

Development by KAV of customised shades

Reflecting the environment with closing systems

The KAV approach helped a lot in its implementation. They talk to the customer and they don't want to sell a product, they want to answer questions and look for a solution. I did not have to choose from a catalogue, so I was not forced to choose from a set of solutions, but was offered individual solutions to a given problem. Of the companies I worked with, KAV gave me the most technical support.

The relationship between aluminium doors and windows and the façade

In parallel with the advent of the latest aluminium door and window solutions, including filigree case systems and large glass surfaces, façades have also been transformed in the family home market. In addition to functionality, design also plays a key role in more and more buildings. However, architects rarely involve professionals in the process of designing doors, windows and façades. The Vizafogó parish lodge has been renewed with KAV support

The full building structure, energy renovation and functional extension of the St. Martin of Tours parish lodge has been completed. The concept of this building on Váci út in Budapest, serving religious purposes, was developed by the head of our company, Károly Lovász. Aluminium curtain wall with arches and large glass surfaces

The design was one of the biggest challenges in the production and installation of the aluminium doors and windows of the Reformed Kindergarten in Svábhegy, since more than 700 individual solid angles had to be calculated to create the aluminium curtain wall, which was not only a segmental arch, but also broken at the bottom and top edges. Wind pressure is the biggest challenge for doors and windows designed for Iceland

Our company, is involved in the doors and windows solutions of the Marriott Hotel, being built near Harpa, one of the symbolic buildings of Reykavík. The Icelandic architecture and the weather conditions on the island require different systems from the ones we are used to at home, so the KAV team has also built a prototype for this work, taking into account, among others, the installation and insulation aspects.
